State Fair 2006

We really outdid ourselves at the fair this year. I have no idea why we had not jumped on the fried food bandwagon before - it is so sinfully good!!! Loving it! Anyhow, I am trying to post the food in order of consumption. =)

I liked the irony of this picture. Why would they have that sign at the fair?

The first round - tamales. These are so good, but we limited ourselves to three. Moderation is good for consuming as much variety as possible!

Did I mention how much I love turkey legs? I love them!!!!

Frozen turtle cheesecake on a stick. I think Brittney and I got a bite each - if that!

Free Biscuits! The line for them is always long because these little buttery morsels are so good!

The Rice Pudding flavored ice cream bar that I liked but the other two thought was gross. More for me!

We hem-hawed about getting this until I saw it was DUBLIN Dr.Pepper! Too bad it wasn't all that impressive. *sigh*

Two corny dogs - one regular and one jalepeno cheese. Little known fact that the corn dog was in fact invented at the Texas State Fair - by these guys - Fletchers! Best Corny Dog Ever!

Texas shaped nachos and a cream cheese iced cinnamon roll - state fair staples!

So good! It was called a Fried Cosmopolitan. Cheesecake wrapped in a flour tortilla and fried. Then topped with a cranberry sauce, lime and powdered sugar. I cannot believe how amazingly good it was. Matt had to fight for bites of this one!

Fried marshmallows are way better than toasted marshmallows. This was probably the favorite of the night.

Roasted corn with yummy seasonings. We had to come back for this one, they ran out of corn. I personally like seasoning with Lawrys, Lemon Pepper and Cayenne (on one side for Matt!)

Or maybe this was Matt's favorite. He ate the corn cob until I made him stop. I think his exact words were "You're not getting this corn out of my hands" about 2 seconds before I proved him wrong... =)

Matt didn't wait for me to take a picture before he started eating, the original size was twice this... I was in the bathroom!

Tornado Tators!!! Too bad the ketchup was funky!

A close-up of the fried coke. It's kinda like doughnuts made with Coke, that are drizzled with coke syrup and whipped cream. I don't think it was the best, but it was good!

Me, not satisfied with the sugar so far, shopping at the candy store at the fair! More yummy goodness!

And one for the road - Cotton Candy. When we were in the corn line, little cotton candy floaties would waft by. I would grab them and eat them! Yum!

My belly could have been this big by the end of the day but I was faking it! This is probably what I will look like pregnant for those of you who can't wait to see (Mom and Dad!).

A guy was building this really cool card skyline of Dallas. No glue or folding - it was pretty impressive. I love the Reunion Tower (ball!).

Brittney and I enjoying the amazing power of the foot massagers! It tickles and hurts and feels great all at the same time!

Matt and I smiling through our exhaustion at the end of another great fair! See you next year!
